At least one student in US' New Mexico sustained injuries and is suffering from severed nerves and tendons after a former teacher made students fight with real swords in the classroom in 2022. The teacher, Loviata Mitchell, had brought the swords to the classroom herself. The family of the victim, who underwent several surgeries, has filed a lawsuit.
