US woman who survived execution had requested all-woman execution team

Tennessee woman Christa Pike, who survived two lethal-injection execution attempts, had requested an all-female execution team, and her request was reportedly honoured. According to the New York Post, Pike said she was previously sexually abused and that being put to death by a man would be too traumatising. Pike also reportedly guided executioners on needle placement for better vein access.
