German economy minister Peter Altmaier has said the US won't succeed if it tries to divide the European Union (EU) with import tariffs. "We are a customs union and act jointly," Altmaier said. This comes after US President Donald Trump called tariffs imposed by the EU as "horrific" following his decision to impose high import duties on steel and aluminium.
