Several people on Twitter alleged that video-calling app Houseparty, which saw a surge in downloads amid lockdowns, was used by hackers to steal data from their phones. People alleged that installing the app led to other accounts like Paypal and Spotify being hacked. Denying the claims, Houseparty offered ₹7.5-crore bounty for proof that this was a "paid commercial smear campaign".
