Uttarakhand has witnessed 13 chopper accidents & 27 deaths in 10 years

A chopper, flying to Dehradun from Badrinath, crashed in Uttarakhand's Joshimath on Friday and killed the pilot and five passengers. Between 2016 and 2026, Uttarakhand has recorded at least 13 distinct helicopter incidents. This includes five major fatal crashes and seven non-fatal incidents. Notably, as many as 27 people have died in the accidents during this period.
