UV nail polish dryers increase risk of cancer: Study

Ultraviolet nail polish dryers used in gel manicures may lead to cancer-causing mutations in human cells, a study by the University of California stated. A single 20-minute session with these devices emitting UV light results in 20% to 30% cell death. Researchers also found that DNA damage does not get repaired over time, which may lead to skin cancer.
