Amid Maharashtra political crisis, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant said that PM Narendra Modi betrayed the party's founder Bal Thackeray, who saved his future after 2002 Gujarat riots. "After the 2002 Gujarat riots, [then PM Atal Bihari] Vajpayee had made up his mind to sack Modi as Chief Minister, but Balasaheb convinced Vajpayee not to do that," said Sawant.
