Over six months after its prototype was built, the Vande Bharat sleeper version is still waiting for operational clearance. Manufactured by BEML and tested successfully at 160 kmph, the 16-coach train is now under the scrutiny of the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), who raised safety and design concerns.
