Sikh actors Manjot Singh and Amanjot Singh, who played Ranbir Kapoor's cousins in 'Animal', said director Sandeep Reddy Vanga believes Sikhs are meant for heroic roles not comic ones. "Their attitude, nature, history...isn't made for comedy. I don't look at Sardars for comedy," Amanjot recalled Vanga as saying. Manjot said Vanga asked a makeup artist to never "touch" his beard.
