Vijay-led TVK won the trust vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly with the support of 144 MLAs, including backing from Congress, Left parties, VCK, IUML and a section of the AIADMK. While extending support, allies such as VCK placed several conditions before the govt, including protecting state rights, opposing delimitation, enacting law against honour killings and safeguarding social justice policies.
