Vedanta received a notice from Odisha State Pollution Control Board demanding ₹71.16 crore in environmental compensation for alleged violations related to the unauthorised disposal of fly ash. Vedanta said that it "strongly disputes" the allegations and claimed that the decision was made without reviewing its compliance records. It further intends to seek legal remedies against the allegations.
