A joint venture of Vedanta and electronics manufacturing firm Foxconn has finalised the Dholera Special Investment Region near Ahmedabad for the first manufacturing facility for semiconductors in India. In the biggest-ever corporate investment in independent India's history, the companies in September 2022 signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to invest ₹1,54,000 crore to set up the plant.
