Vegetarian thali cost rises 10% in Sept, led by high onion prices

The cost of making a vegetarian thali at home rose 10% year-on-year to ₹30.8 in September 2026, from ₹28.1, mainly due to higher onion, edible oil, rice and cooking gas prices. The cost of a non-vegetarian thali increased 6% to ₹59.5 from ₹56, according to Crisil. Both thali costs also rose from August, by 4% and 3%, respectively.
