The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) have called on authorities to restrict New Year celebrations, alleging that such events mislead the youth and encourage harmful activities. Sharan Pumpwell, VHP’s joint secretary for the southern province, raised concerns about the increasing influence of drug mafias in the coastal region.
