Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, AVSM, VSM, assumed charge as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command on July 31, 2025, succeeding Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh. A communication and electronic warfare specialist, he has commanded key warships including INS Vikramaditya. A decorated officer and scholar, he earlier served as Vice Chief of Naval Staff.
