A YouTube video by NASA shows footage shot during the first 'car ride' on the moon, which happened 45 years ago on July 31, 1971. Astronauts David Scott and James Irwin drove the first Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) on the moon during the Apollo 15 mission. The LRV was driven a total of 27.8 kilometres, in about three hours.
