A video explains the science behind yawns being contagious and how the phenomenon is attributed to physiological and psychological reasons. Among various hypotheses, it explains that it can be due to non-conscious mimicry, or the chameleon effect, in which people unintentionally copy each other. Scientists believe that this is possible because of a special set of neurons called mirror neurons.
