Videocon Chairman Venugopal Dhoot reportedly denied claims that he has left India to avoid scrutiny from bankers for over ₹20,000-crore debt owed by his firms. Dhoot said, "I'll strive my best to repay every single penny owed to the banks." In January, the SBI referred Videocon Industries to bankruptcy court after lenders failed to resolve its loan by December 31.
