A rare Vijayanagara-period Nandigamba inscription has been discovered at the Basavanna temple in Kalluru village, Shivamogga. Dated to 1424 AD, it records a royal land grant by King Devaraya II to the Virupaksha temple in Hampi. The find offers valuable insights into temple administration, regional boundaries, and the historical importance of land grants during that period.
