Residents of Dodda Hittala village in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district carried a deceased person through a flooded stream after heavy rain cut off access to the cremation ground. With no proper road linking the village to the cremation ground, locals were forced to wade through the overflowing Bhaskakeri stream, renewing demands for basic infrastructure and an all-weather road.
