American credit card major Visa has signed a deal to acquire Brazilian fintech startup Pismo for $1 billion (over ₹8,204 crore) in cash. The takeover would be Visa's first major takeover since 2021, when it bought European open banking platform Tink and British cross-border payments provider Currencycloud. Earlier, reports claimed both Mastercard and Visa were in talks to acquire Pismo.
