Volkswagen recalls 2.86 million cars worldwide over risk of losing steering control

Volkswagen is recalling around 2.86 million vehicles worldwide over a potential steering safety risk caused by corrosion, Germany's KBA said. The recall covers Tiguan, Touran, Golf and Caddy models made between 2013 and 2024, while around 700,000 Audi vehicles built between 2017 and 2024 are also affected. Corrosion could cause a steering-system bolt to break, leading to loss of control.
