A 21-year-old man, along with six to seven volunteers from Uttar Pradesh, removed more than 500 kg of waste from the Manorama River in just 39 days. The river had started looking dead as water could not even be seen beneath the layers of garbage. The group spends nearly five hours every day pulling out waste from the polluted water.
