The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that it will carry out a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across the country. The ECI stated that it is undertaking the revision as part of its constitutional duty to safeguard the integrity of the voter lists. The announcement comes amid Opposition's protest against the SIR in Bihar.
