Voters in Portland, Maine ban govt use of facial recognition technology

Voters in Portland, Maine have passed a ballot initiative "Referendum Question B" that seeks to ban government and police use of facial recognition technology, the Bangor Daily News reported. The initiative also provides a "right to...sue if facial surveillance data is illegally gathered and/or used". Other successful measures include a minimum wage of $15/hour and new limits on rent increases.
