Following criticism from Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the National Award win for 'The Kerala Story', director Sudipto Sen urged him to "watch the film first". "If he can find one line...wrong, he should tell me," Sen said. "We've given 12 years of research to this film...gave evidence for each line of dialogue in the film to CBFC," he added.
