The water level of Himachal Pradesh's Giri River increased after a cloudburst struck the Sirmaur district on Wednesday. The water from the river also entered residential areas. "Around 223 lives have been lost and the number of injured is more than 295. Around 800 houses fully destroyed and more than 7,500 houses partially damaged," state's minister Jagat Singh Negi said.
