Water isn't wet, it only makes things wet: Scientists

We use water daily—to drink, bathe, and swim—but water itself is not wet. Scientists explain that wetness isn’t a property of water but a sensation experienced when water touches another surface. On its own, water isn’t wet—it simply causes wetness. So, technically, water becomes “wet” only when it comes into contact with something like skin or clothes.
