BJP government in Bengal has notified 66 castes under Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, which includes several Muslim communities. These communities will now be eligible for 7% reservation in government services. This comes days after government scrapped the existing state OBC list. The BJP government recently withdrew the TMC government's plea against High Court's stay on its OBC list.
