Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country had accepted the deal with Hamas, which was mediated by US special envoy Steve Witkoff. "Hamas rejected it...They want to stay in Gaza. They want us to leave...so they can attack us again...I'll not accept that," said Netanyahu. Netanyahu said polls showing that most of the public supports the deal are "manipulated".
