Supreme Court on Wednesday criticised Centre over poor air quality in Delhi, saying, "We will take the Union of India to task...it hasn't created any machinery." It added, "The Environment Protection Act has become toothless. You have got rid of punishment and replaced it with a penalty." Centre assured the court that the Act will be operationalised within 10 days.
