Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said by scrapping old vehicles, the sale of new vehicles will increase by 16%. Speaking at the launch event of 'DigiELV', he said currently there are 42 scrapping centres and 85 centres have received approval. "The way our automobile sector is growing, I feel we will need 1,000 scrapping centres in the country," Gadkari said.
