Moti Mahal owners sued Daryaganj restaurant claiming the recipes were invented by Moti Mahal founder Kundan Lal Gujral in 1948, with butter chicken created in 1975 to prevent chicken from drying. Daryaganj owners counter that co-founder Kundan Lal Jaggi deserves credit. Case is currently underway.
