West Bengal flags 29 municipalities as dengue cases cross 5,000
West Bengal has reported 5,002 dengue cases, prompting the health department to identify 29 municipalities, 85 community development blocks and 278 panchayats as hotspots. Authorities are intensifying testing, surveillance and awareness drives, urging people with fever lasting over two days to seek medical care instead of self-medicating and to prevent stagnant water.
