The West Bengal government on Saturday announced that the state-run schools will remain closed beginning Monday due to heat wave. The decision was taken after the Meteorological Department issued a heat wave warning for Kolkata, where a middle-aged man died due to high temperature. The maximum temperature in the state was recorded above 40°C, according to Alipore Meteorological Department.
