What are airlines liable to give customers by law in case of cancellations?

According to DGCA rules, passengers who've been informed of flight cancellations two weeks before the date of departure are allowed to book alternative flights or get refunds. If airlines fail to inform passengers in time, the flyers are eligible for alternative flights/refund along with compensation. Airlines will have to pay ₹5,000/₹7,500 for flights with block times between 0-1 hours/1-2 hours.
