Bonus shares are additional shares given to a company's existing shareholders without any additional cost. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani earlier announced the company will consider issuing bonus shares in 1:1 ratio. This would mean each shareholder will receive a bonus share for every share they own. However, their overall investment value will remain same as share price will be lowered.
