The ChaSTE (Chandra's Surface Thermophysical Experiment), seen in Vikram Lander's picture on Moon, measures the temperature profile of the lunar topsoil around the pole, to understand the thermal behaviour of the moon's surface. The Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) measures the seismicity around the landing site. The picture of the lander was released by ISRO on Wednesday.
