What are executive orders, issued by US Presidents?

Executive orders are "signed, written and published directive(s)" by Presidents of the USA who manage operations of the federal government. They don't require Congressional approval as they're not legislations, but they're subject to courts' review if they violate the Constitution or exceed President's authority. President Donald Trump has signed around 80 orders since his inauguration on Monday.
China to ban Hollywood movies over Trump's tariffs: Reports

Multiple reports have claimed that China is planning to ban Hollywood movies in response to the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. The reports come as Trump threatened to impose 50% additional tariffs on Chinese imports if the Asian country doesn't withdraw its 34% retaliatory tariffs. China may also impose tariffs on American farm goods, the reports added.

Illegal, arbitrary: SC on TN Governor Ravi withholding assent to Bills

Supreme Court set aside Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi's decision to withhold assent to 10 Bills passed by state Assembly, calling it "illegal" and "arbitrary". It said Governor cannot reserve Bills for the President's consideration after withholding assent, adding that there's no concept of "absolute veto" on Bills by Governor. It also laid down timelines for Governor's actions on Bills.

Sensex shoots up over 800 points at open

The Sensex shot up more than 800 points at the open and was trading above 74,000 on Tuesday, a day after closing over 2,200 points lower. All the top 30 Sensex stocks were trading in green at the opening on Tuesday, with Titan jumping 4% and Tata Steel 3.74%. Nifty was up 285 points at 22,446.75.

Dire wolves, that went extinct 12,500 years ago, brought back to life

A species of wolf that died out 12,500 years ago has been brought back to life, according to Dallas-based biotech company Colossal Biosciences. Scientists have created three dire wolf pups by using ancient DNA, cloning and gene-editing technology to alter the genes of a grey wolf. The result is essentially a hybrid species similar in appearance to its extinct predecessor.

Rana, who is a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, is currently lodged in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Rana was arrested in the US in 2009 for his involvement in terrorism-related activities.

They rose after reports claimed US President Donald Trump is considering pausing reciprocal tariffs for 90 days. "Exchanged perspectives on the Indo-Pacific, the Indian Sub-continent, Europe, Middle East/West Asia and the Caribbean. Agreed on the importance of the early conclusion of the Bilateral Trade Agreement. Look forward to remaining in touch," Jaishankar wrote.
