What are hallucinations?

The human body has five sensory organs—eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin—that detect stimuli from the environment. However, in some psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia and certain brain issues, as psychologist Dr. Vishwa Dave explains, these organs may perceive sensations without any external trigger. This false perception, occurring without real stimuli, is referred to as hallucination.
