Japan's "jiko bukken" or "misfortunate properties" are houses where suicides, murders or even 'socially-isolated' deaths, the most common type, have taken place. However, due to a surge in property prices, such properties are now gaining appeal among investors and bargain hunters. Buyers of such properties are reassured via spirit activity readings and Buddhist ceremonies, Reuters reported.
