The drone attacks on Saudi crude processing facilities cut production by 5.7 million barrels/day, the single biggest sudden disruption on record. It surpasses the loss of Kuwaiti and Iraqi supply in August 1990, when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. It also exceeds the loss of Iranian oil output during the Islamic Revolution in 1978-79, according to the International Energy Agency.
