Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a condition in which excess fat builds up in the liver. This buildup of fat isn't caused by heavy alcohol use. One may have no symptoms in early stages but when it progresses and liver damage gets worse, patients may feel fatigue, weight loss, weakness and an ache in upper right part of the belly.
