The 'Saltmen' are ancient miners whose bodies were found naturally preserved in Iran's Chehrābād salt mine. Discovered in various states, some with arms raised, they date back thousands of years, with the oldest from 9550 BCE. Salt and lack of oxygen mummified the corpses. Their remains, found with fractures and injuries, suggest death by mining collapses.
