The World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2024 says the biggest short-term risk stems from misinformation and disinformation. It is followed by extreme weather events, societal polarisation, cyber insecurity and interstate armed conflict. In the longer term, climate-related threats dominate the top 10 risks global populations will face, with extreme weather events being the biggest risk.
