Chennai-based surgeon Dr Preethi Mrinalini warned against eating packaged and ready-to-eat foods. She said, "Most of them contain high sodium, preservatives, artificial flavours, and stabilisers. These overload your gut, confuse your hunger hormones, and increase inflammation." A study has linked ultra-processed food to adverse health effects, including cardiovascular and metabolic health risks.
