The total solar eclipse set to occur today will undergo five stages namely partial eclipse, shadow bands, Baily's Beads, Diamond Ring and Totality. Rapidly moving, long, dark bands form in the second stage, followed by points of light shining around the Moon's edges until a single bright spot remains. In the last stage, the Moon completely blocks the Sun.
