India is expanding its high-speed rail network with plans for seven bullet train corridors covering nearly 4,000 km. Four detailed project reports have been approved, while surveys continue for three routes. Under the Make in India initiative, the proposed routes are Mumbai–Ahmedabad, Mumbai–Pune, Bengaluru–Chennai, Bengaluru–Hyderabad, Pune–Hyderabad, Delhi–Lucknow and Delhi–Varanasi.
