Dengue is a viral infection that spreads from the bite of infected Aedes species mosquito. The most common symptoms of dengue are high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pains, nausea, vomiting, swollen glands and rash, according to World Health Organization. Hospitalisation is often needed in cases of severe illness, WHO added.
