The new COVID-19 variant found in the UK, 'Eris' or EG.5.1, is a descendant of the Omicron variant and has the same symptoms as exhibited by those infected by Omicron. Some of the most common symptoms, identified in a study, are runny nose, headache, sore throat, sneezing and fatigue. 'Eris' is now the second-most prevalent variant in the UK.
